Most people come on Alpha because of a personal invitation. We'd love you to encourage your congregation to invite their friends to try Alpha. You could put one of these stories on your website, or show them in church on Sunday to inspire your community to invite people to Alpha. Or you could ask one of your previous Alpha guests to share their story on a Sunday.
Whilst a personal invitation is the most effective way of inviting someone to try Alpha, promoting the invitation in other ways can create real impact in your community. In the same way as a good TV advert or a memorable poster, this starts people thinking about what they’ve seen and what it could mean. If this is followed up with a personal invitation, people are already open to what they have seen advertised.
Here are some tips on how you can maximize your social media impact:
Tip 1: Download Alpha social media assets on alpha.org/run
We provide header/cover images for Twitter and Facebook as well as Instagram size images for you to use to advertise Alpha to your followers. You can find these on Alpha Builder. Please check out the Brand Guidelines before using these and do not modify the images.
Tip 2: Share your Alpha details in tweets and posts.
Share the key details for your Alpha; start date, time, location.
Direct your followers to alpha.org for more general information about what Alpha is.
Tip 3: Join the #TryAlpha and #RunAlpha conversation
Share highlights, photos and quotes on Twitter and Instagram using these two hashtags.
Encourage all your Alpha leaders to be sharing Alpha on their own social media accounts.
Tip 4: Keep in touch with your guests
Use Twitter or Facebook every week to remind guests that Alpha is on let them know about any changes to details.
Share quotes from guests and photos from each week through retweets and shares.

Make sure all your leaders are following @alphacourseuk so that they can stay up to date with the latest Alpha news and campaigns.
